FDA warns about tiratricol weight-loss supplements

WASHINGTON (Reuters Health) - The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning to consumers to avoid dietary supplements containing tiratricol, a thyroid hormone that may have deadly side effects.

"Despite four recalls over the past 7 months, various products that contain tiratricol may still have reached consumers," the FDA warns, adding that it "urges all consumers to stop using such products immediately."

Tiratricol, which also goes under the name triiodothyroacetic acid or TRIAC, is usually found in weight-loss and fat-burning supplements. It has the potential to cause heart attacks and strokes, the FDA states.

Last year, the FDA warned consumers about a tiratricol-containing product Triax Metabolic Accelerator, which was a dietary supplement for weight loss marketed by Syntrax Innovations. Syntrax no longer makes a tiratricol supplement, a spokesperson told Reuters Health.

In 1999, there were reports of people seeking medical treatment for severe diarrhea, lethargy and profound weight loss after taking tiratricol supplements, an FDA spokesperson told Reuters Health. The spokesperson noted that there have not been any reports of people experiencing heart attack or stroke due to tiratricol, but theoretically this chemical could induce those conditions.

All tiratricol products are being recalled, the FDA spokesperson said, noting that the substance is banned from being used in dietary supplements.

Since 1999, four other companies have recalled tiratricol products, the FDA notes. In April, J.N.G Sports Supplement Distributors recalled their "fat burner" Tricana Metabolic Hormone Analogue capsules, the distributor Thermo-Life International also recalled Tricana from wholesalers, and Gentech recalled their product Tria-Cutz.

In September, ATF Fitness Products recalled its tiratricol supplement Sci-Fi-Tri-Cuts. An ATF spokesperson told Reuters Health, "Some people were taking more than we were suggesting taking...so the FDA recalled it."

Adverse effects reported with ATF's product consisted of blood hemoglobin problems, the spokesperson said. There were no reports of any fatal events with Sci-Fi-Tri-Cuts, she said.

Despite the recall and the FDA warning, ATF has developed a new tiratricol product, Tri-Cuts II, that is already on the market, the spokesperson said. Tri-Cuts II contains a reduced amount of tiratricol by about half, but the recommendations for suggested dosage on the labeling has not been changed, the spokesperson said.

Most of the tiratricol supplement products were distributed to health food stores and gyms, the FDA says.

The agency "urges all individuals who may have purchased these products, or any product containing tiratricol, to stop using them immediately and, in addition, to consult their healthcare professional if they are experiencing any adverse effects, which may include insomnia, nervousness, sweating and diarrhea."

Zum Parabolon: Ist ein Sledge-Hammer Produkt und somit ebenfalls nicht zu empfehlen. Generell sind alle Pro-Hormone überteuert und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis steht in keiner Relation.

Zum Trenbolon: Ist ein sehr heftiges Stack-Roid, was mitunter nicht jeder verträgt. Trenbolon kann sehr auf die Psyche schlagen, was sich in heftigen Depressionen und extrem mieser Laune bemerkbar macht.
Weiterhin ist nicht geklärt, ob Tren (ist eigentlich ein Veterenärstoff) Leber und Nierenschädigend ist. Ich kenne unterschiedliche Aussagen.
Echtes Ganabol wirst Du nicht mehr bekommen, es gibt nur noch Generikas, davon aber nur wenige wirklich gute.
In Verbindung mit Finasterid/Duasterid sorgt es, wie beim Deca, für vermehrten Haarausfall. Also nur ohne diese Mittel anzuwenden.

 

Hakan, erstmal legst Du Dir nen anderen Umgangston zu. Ich weiß schon was ich schreibe und was nicht. Seh das als erste Verwarnung an !

Im schwarzen Buch steht auch, das Finasterid (1mg) bis 750mg Testo/Woche ausreicht gegen Haarausfall. Das ist definitiv falsch. Bei 750mg/Woche reicht Finasterid lange nicht mehr.

Weiterhin ist im schwarzen Buch kein Wort darüber vermerkt, das Deca nicht mit Finasterid gestackt werden darf, da sonst die Haare nur so vom Kopf rieseln.

So viel zum schwarzen Buch ! Nicht alles was in Büchern steht, ist auch richtig.

Und wenn Du eh das glaubst was da drin steht, warum fragst Du dann hier blöd nach ? Steht doch da, wird schon richtig sein.

Hau es Dir rein, anstatt vielleicht mal an eine harte Diät und genügend Sport zu denken. Es ist echt der Hammer, ihr wollt alle Fett verbrennen ohne Euren A**** zu bewegen oder die Ernährung umzustellen.

Tut mir Leid, was Du schreibst ist unfug. Und deswegen wird der Thread geschlossen.

Wenn Du dementsprechend veranlagt bist, gehen Dir Haare schon bei 250mg/Woche flöten. Ich spreche da aus eigener Erfahrung.

Du scheinst ja schon alles ausprobiert zu haben, das Du sagen kannst das die Infs aus dem schwarzen Buch zu 90% stimmen.
